Project Overview
This eaves loft conversion in Gresley Way, Stevenage transformed previously unused roof space into a comfortable new bedroom with built-in eaves storage and a new staircase.
The design focused on making efficient use of the available floor area and headroom, creating practical additional accommodation that works naturally with the existing home.
The Brief
The homeowners wanted to make better use of the existing roof space, creating a comfortable additional bedroom while incorporating practical storage within the lower eaves areas.
The aim was to create a bright, usable room that worked naturally within the existing roof structure and connected comfortably with the rest of the home.
The Approach
The conversion was planned around the existing roof form, making effective use of the available head height while retaining the character of the roof space.
Rooflights were incorporated to bring natural light into the room, while the lower eaves areas were carefully used for integrated storage. The staircase and internal layout were considered together to create practical access and make the new floor feel connected to the rest of the property.
